Falkirk striker Kevin O'Hara has been handed an eight-match ban for abusing Dunfermline Athletic midfielder Dean Shiels about his missing eye.
The 19-year-old, who is yet to score in 12 appearances so far this season, was found guilty of excessive misconduct during the 2-0 win over the Pars on October 7.
O'Hara was eventually substituted in the 83rd minute of the Scottish Championship encounter at the Falkirk Stadium.
A Falkirk statement read: "The club take note of the decision made by the Scottish Football Association Judicial Panel and are in the process of requesting the written reasons. No further comment will be made at this time."
Falkirk's Joe McKee - who found himself on the receiving end of a Shiels tackle in the same game which saw the latter sent off - has also been served with an SFA notice of complaint for excessive misconduct and will appear before the governing body on November 16.
Shiels, who has also played for Rangers, had an operation to have his right eye removed in 2006 following an accident when he was eight years old.
