Substitute Michael Gregoritsch scored a late winner as Hamburger SV defeated FC Ingolstadt 04 1-0 in their Bundesliga clash this evening.
The hosts started the game brightly, as Pascal Gross shot high and wide from outside the box, before Mathew Leckie headed wide from a Markus Suttner cross.
Ingolstadt continued to impress in the first half, as Lukas Hinterseer narrowly missed the net from a tight angle, before Suttner fired wide with a shot from distance.
Hamburger's first chance fell to Nicolai Muller, who tested Ramazan Ozcan with a close-range shot, before Pierre-Michel Lasogga missed the target from outside the area.
After half time both sides missed chances to take the lead, as Suttner fired wide, before Lasogga missed a chance from inside the penalty area at the other end of the pitch.
The visitors began to take control of the match as the half went on, as Lasogga missed shot narrowly wide, before a Marcelo Diaz free kick brushed past the top-left corner of the Ingolstadt goal.
Hamburger finally broke the deadlock on 87 minutes, as Gregoritsh found the top-right corner of the net with a free kick.
