Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has said that his side have been taught a lesson this season.
The Italian outfit, who have lost just once in their last seven league games, remain in seventh place in Serie A. However, Moratti insists that the Milan club are still targeting third place.
"We regret each point that we have dropped," he said. "If we had defeated Cagliari, we would be closer to third place. That has taught us how careful we have to be.
"We expect each game to be difficult because we will face opponents who want to collect points.
"Our desire is there and it seems to be that there is something new that gives us hope."
Inter are six points adrift of Lazio in third place.
