Fiorentina midfielder David Pizarro could miss the start of the Serie A season after picking up an abdominal injury while on international duty.
The 33-year-old suffered a "lesion of the internal oblique muscle" playing in Chile's 6-0 win over Iraq on Wednesday and could be sidelined for up to a month, according to Football Italia.
Pizarro, who joined the club from Roma last summer, looks likely to miss the league games with Catania and Genoa as well as both legs of the Europa League playoff with Swiss side Grasshoppers.
Viola said that they will assess the situation in after "a week of therapy and rest".
