The agent of Massimo Ambrosini has revealed that the former AC Milan midfielder is close to joining Fiorentina.
The 36-year-old, who is currently out of contract, had been linked with a move to West Ham United.
"I spoke by telephone with (sporting director) Daniele Prade and we took a step forward with Fiorentina," Moreno Roggi told Radio Blu Toscana.
"At the moment everything is suspended - there is no agreement yet but there has been an important approach between the two parties. We'll be in touch in a few days. I am optimistic."
Ambrosini's recent departure from Milan brought to an end his 18-year association with the club.
