France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will equal a World Cup appearance record with his start against Morocco in Wednesday's semi-final.

The Tottenham Hotspur man has been Les Bleus' undisputed number one throughout the tournament and unsurprisingly lines up in between the sticks at the Al Bayt Stadium.

In doing so, Lloris will make a 19th World Cup appearance, equalling the record for the most World Cup matches played by a goalkeeper alongside Germany's Manuel Neuer.

With France guaranteed to play one more game at the tournament in the final or third-placed playoff, Lloris could make a record-breaking 20th World Cup appearance this weekend.

The 35-year-old, who was benched for Les Bleus' final group game against Tunisia, is making his 144th appearance for France this evening and is still waiting for his first clean sheet of the 2022 World Cup.

However, Didier Deschamps has been forced to make two changes after Adrien Rabiot and Dayot Upamecano came down with illnesses - Youssouf Fofana and Ibrahima Konate take their places.

The winner of this tie will go on to meet Argentina in Sunday's final, while the losers battle Croatia for the bronze medal on Saturday. body check tags ::
