France defender Raphael Varane has hailed the team's "fantastic" performance during Friday's win over Switzerland at the World Cup.
Les Bleus all but secured a place in the second round of the tournament thanks to a comfortable 5-2 victory in Salvador.
The French finish their Group E campaign on Wednesday against Ecuador in Rio de Janeiro.
"It was a fantastic performance," Varane, who plays his club football for Real Madrid, told FIFA.com. "We put them under a lot of pressure and played with a lot of intensity."
France failed to get out of the group stage at the 2010 World Cup as two defeats and a draw saw them finish bottom of their group.
