Fulham head coach Rene Meulensteen has insisted that it makes no sense to schedule an FA Cup clash just 48 hours before a vital game in the Premier League.
The Cottagers take on Sheffield United in the FA Cup on Sunday, before travelling to Swansea City on Tuesday night in an important game in the bottom half of the Premier League.
Due to the scheduling of the fixtures, Meulensteen admitted that he would have to use some of his squad players against the Blades in order to save the first-teamers for the Swansea clash.
"The Swansea game is more important because it is so tight in the Premier League," Sky Sports News quotes Meulensteen as saying.
"There is not one country in the world that would let someone play in a fourth round of the cup on a Sunday and then play an important league game on Tuesday. Everyone with a bit of common sense understands that.
"I have to utilise the squad to the best of my ability, to make sure it doesn't affect either competition."
Fulham are above the relegation zone by one point only.
