Fulham defender Aaron Hughes has praised the team for their "resolute" performance during Saturday's 1-0 win at Sunderland in the Premier League.
The Cottagers got their season off to a positive start as Pajtim Kasami scored the only goal of the game at the Stadium of Light.
"I wouldn't put it down as our best performance, but in terms of being resolute and strong and determined and showing character, it's up there with any [game] we've played in," Hughes told the club's official website.
"To come up here and come away with the three points is a great achievement."
Fulham return to league action on Saturday when they welcome Arsenal to Craven Cottage.
