Fulham manager Martin Jol has admitted that his side were a little fortunate to claim victory over Liverpool at Craven Cottage tonight.
Clint Dempsey's late strike earned the Cottagers a much-needed win but the visitors seemed to be in control of the match before Jay Spearing received a debatable red card.
"Tonight we had the rub of the green. We weren't the better team. We had a couple of chances but even with 10 men they had an unbelievable shot," said Jol.
The Dutchman also believes referee Lee Friend made the right call in sending off Spearing but confesses things could have worked out differently.
"I think it was a bad tackle. Maybe when I was playing in England it would have been a great tackle. I think it was a sending-off."
With the result, Fulham move five points clear of the relegation zone and next face Swansea in the Premier League this Saturday.
