Genoa manager Gian Piero Gasperini has said that his team deserved to beat AC Milan in their Serie A match this afternoon.
The Rossoblu claimed a 1-0 win over their opponents thanks to a deflected free kick from Blerim Dzemaili.
While Gasperini believed that Genoa were the better team, he admitted that they played better before Alessio Romagnoli was sent off for Milan.
"Paradoxically, we played much better in the first half and deserved to be 1-0 up, then fell away after the break when against 10 men," he told Mediaset Premium.
"Milan did well too and we ran more risks than were necessary, then were unable to make the most of the spaces that opened up for us.
"I think Genoa were superior to Milan on the day and we played better. The yellow cards were inarguable, as they were second to the ball and had to resort to fouls."
Genoa are back in Serie A action next Sunday with a trip to Udinese.
