Gordon Strachan unconcerned by Germany's loss to Argentina

Scotland boss Gordon Strachan insists that he has not altered his plans for Sunday's match against Germany following the world champions' friendly defeat to Argentina.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has insisted that Germany's friendly loss to Argentina on Wednesday makes no difference to his side's preparations for Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier.

Joachim Low's side found themselves 4-0 down in their first match since being crown world champions in Brazil, before rallying to restore a little pride and make the final result 4-2 in Dusseldorf.

The likes of Miroslav Klose, Philipp Lahm and Per Mertesacker all retired from international duty following the World Cup, while Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mesut Ozil and Mats Hummels are out injured for the match against Scotland.

However, Strachan is still expecting to come up against a "top-class" Germany team in Dortmund as his side get their qualifying campaign underway.

"I have heard a lot of people talking about it but it changes nothing for us. This will be Germany's first competitive match after being world champions and we know what to expect. Yes they have a few players retired and a few players missing but we expect a fully fit, top class Germany team," he told reporters.

"To prepare for it any differently would be a mistake. The players who they have lost are experienced and it can be a blow. It takes time for players who come in to establish themselves in a team. But when we are talking about the strength and depth that Germany have, I don't think it is going to be a problem as you might think.

"We hope it is but they are world champions, they are going to have great confidence from that and even the players that come in, they will be expecting them to play at their level and prove that they are ready."

Scotland go into the match having not been beaten in six games - a run that stretches back 12 months.
