Germany right-back Joshua Kimmich has emerged as an injury doubt for Tuesday's UEFA Nations League showdown against Hungary in League A Group 3.
The Bayern Munich stalwart came off with an ankle problem in Saturday's 7-0 dismantling of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the biggest-ever margin of victory in a men's UEFA Nations League match.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that Kimmich is not suffering from anything more severe than a knock, though, and the player himself has affirmed that he would have carried on if more was at stake.
Kimmich is hopeful of taking to the field on Tuesday, but Nagelsmann can call upon a fully-fit Benjamin Henrichs at right-back instead, so there is surely no need to risk the former from the first whistle.
Henrichs for Kimmich could be one of five defensive changes, as Alexander Nubel, Robin Koch and Robin Gosens could all earn starts, while Nico Schlotterbeck is back from suspension to replace the banned Jonathan Tah.
A lack of genuine midfield options could see Robert Andrich reprise his role in the middle, but Felix Nmecha and Julian Brandt are in line to step in for Pascal Gross and Kai Havertz.
Florian Wirtz conjured up a man-of-the-match performance on Saturday after suffering from an illness in the week, but both he and Jamal Musiala could now make way for Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane, who ought to support two-goal Tim Kleindienst through the centre.
Germany possible starting lineup:
Nubel; Henrichs, Koch, Schlotterbeck, Gosens; Andrich, Nmecha; Gnabry, Brandt, Sane; Kleindienst
