Germany defender Jerome Boateng has revealed that he is not speaking to his half-brother, Kevin-Prince Boateng, ahead of the meeting with Ghana on Saturday evening.
Boateng insists that it is crucial to concentrate on his duties with Germany rather than his sibling rivalry with his half-brother, who elected to represent Ghana at senior level after appearing for the German youth sides.
"It is a bit strange, but the World Cup is a special situation and I think it would not be right if we remained in touch," the 25-year-old told reporters.
"I am with Germany and my full focus is on my tasks here."
Germany are looking for their second Group G victory after beating Portugal on Monday, while Ghana started their campaign with a 2-1 defeat to the USA.
