Germany forward Miroslav Klose has admitted that he is desperate to break Ronaldo's World Cup goal scoring record.
The 36-year-old has scored 14 goals in the tournament and is just one goal behind Ronaldo's tally of 15.
He recently became his country's all-time top goalscorer with a strike during Germany's 6-1 win over Armenia and he is keen to make an impact in Brazil.
"I hope I have the chance to score one or two goals," Klose told TuttoMondiali.it.
"Anyone who knows me knows that the World Cup goal scoring record has been an important target for me for a long time."
Germany face Portugal in their opening Group G match on June 16.
