Thomas Muller has insisted that his stumble during a free kick in Germany's round-of-16 match against Algeria at the World Cup was intentional.
The striker appeared to slip on his run-up when attempting to take the free kick before running beyond the wall in a bid to claim the ball from a Toni Kroos chip forward, but the wall was able to clear.
The 2010 Golden Boot winner told ZDF TV: "It nearly worked out. I don't know if we'll do it again, but I think it was a good alternative, and we did it intentionally."
Germany will face France in the quarter-finals later this week.
