Germany striker Thomas Muller has said that his side do not need to apologise for their playing style at the World Cup as it has brought them success in the tournament.
Die Mannschaft put in a solid defensive display against France as they defeated Didier Deschamps's men 1-0 in their quarter-final clash to reach the last four of the competition in Brazil.
Muller is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: "If other teams won the World Cup this way they would be seen as clever. People would rave about them.
"I don't want to end up winning the World Cup and find that we have to be apologising for it, saying: 'Sorry we only won the final 1-0.'"
Joachim Low's side face Brazil in their semi-final clash on Tuesday.
