Andre Schurrle has revealed that winning the World Cup is the best moment of his life following Germany's triumph inside the Maracana on Sunday night.
The Chelsea forward, who provided the cross for fellow substitute Mario Gotze to secure the 1-0 victory over Argentina, admits that he was unable to control his emotions when the final whistle was eventually blown.
"This is the best moment of my life," Schurrle told reporters. "I had to cry because I was so overcome. I couldn't stop it. It was always a dream to become a world champion.
"We are so looking forward to celebrating with our fans in Berlin tomorrow."
Schurrle scored three goals in the tournament, despite mostly being used as a substitute by Joachim Low.
