Getafe have scored three second-half goals to put themselves in a commanding position after the first leg of their last-32 Copa del Rey tie with Eibar.
Former Swansea City striker Alvaro Vasquez scored in between two Pablo Sarabia strikes as the hosts won 3-0 at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez this evening.
Cosmin Contra's side are two points and two places behind Eibar in the La Liga table and had lost their last two matches - to Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao.
However, they were on the front foot from the start in Madrid and could have gone ahead had Angel Lafita or Baba Diawara taken one of several first-half chances.
They had to wait until the hour mark to make their superiority show on the scoreboard as Sarabia pounced to score his first goal in 13 appearances this season.
Vasquez, who failed to net in 20 outings for Swansea last term, came off the bench to quickly double Getafe's advantage and Sarabia gave them breathing space with a well-taken 73rd-minute third.
The second leg takes place at Ipurua, where Eibar have won only once this term, on December 17.
