A late second-half goal gave Espanyol a 1-0 win away at Granada in this afternoon's La Liga encounter.
Neither side really threatened in the opening stages, although Granada did enjoy the majority of the possession.
The hosts went close to taking the lead just after the half-hour mark when Kiko Casilla came to collect a corner and let the ball slip through his hands. However, the goalkeeper just about managed to claw the ball clear before the finish could be applied.
Espanyol had a half-chance two minutes later when Simao's cross was met by Juan Fuentes, although the defender could only head over the bar.
The away side has a huge chance to take the lead on 59 minutes when Raul Rodriguez found space in the penalty area to get a header in on goal, but the centre-back put his effort high and wide.
Espanyol then took the lead on 76 minutes through a wonderful effort from Manuel Lanzarote, who curled the ball into the top corner following an indirect free kick.
Granada had a great chance to equalise on 79 minutes when Riki found space in the box and poked an effort towards goal, but the Espanyol defence eventually cleared.
The home side were reduced to 10 men on 82 minutes when Odion Jude Ighalo was shown two yellow cards in quick succession.
