Nathan Blissett scored within minutes of coming off the bench to earn Tranmere Rovers a draw against Grimsby Town at Blundell Park this evening.
The Mariners took the lead after nine minutes as Jon-Paul Pittman poked home from close range after reacting to a rebound off the post, although keeper Scott Davies felt that the forward was holding his shirt prior to the goal.
Rovers tried to find an immediate response as both Jay Harris and Marlon Jackson had strikes saved by James McKeown.
Moments after the restart, Tranmere continued to push for an equaliser as Harris fired another chance wide of the Grimsby goal.
However, the Wirral club got back on level terms as Blissett, minutes after coming on as a substitute, latched on to Steven Jennings's through-pass before flicking the ball past an onrushing McKeown.
The home side pushed for a late winner, with Davies saving efforts from Omar Bogle and Ben Tomlinson.
However, Rovers, who fought back to draw at Southport in midweek, picked up another point to stay level on points with Town.
