Both looking to build on wins last time out, HamKam and Tromso IL will meet at Briskeby Arena for a Norwegian Eliteserien match on Sunday afternoon.
The Comrades came into this clash following a 2-1 success, likewise Tromso, who are fighting at the wrong end of the top-tier standings currently.
Match preview
Following the three-week summer break, HamKam have returned to action the Eliteserien in fashion, securing a narrow 2-1 success over Sandefjord.
Vidar Jonsson put the Comrades ahead after nine minutes on their travels before Filip Ottosson equalised for the hosts, but a 60th-minute penalty from Henrik Udahl was ultimately enough for the visitors to claim maximum points.
Winning three of their last five matches in the league, HamKam have moved up to 12th in the Eliteserien standings, three points above 15th-placed Sarpsborg 08 in the highest of the automatic relegation spots.
Bagging three goals in 10 league appearances, Gard Simenstad is currently leading the Comrades' Golden Boot race, with the 25-year-old also providing an assist.
Following the collection of zero points from a woeful two-game June schedule, Tromso returned to winning ways on Wednesday night, when they got the better of Sandefjord at Marius Hansen Groetta.
The Boys raced into a two-goal lead by the time of the half-time whistle thanks to strikes from Lasse Nordas and Jakob Romasaas, meaning that a second-period effort from Eman Markovic was not enough to see the hosts earn any points.
After their morale-boosting win earlier in the week, Tromso are occupying 14th position in the top-tier table, level on points with 13th-placed FK Haugesund, who are in the lowest of the safety places.
Collecting just four points from five matches away from home so far in 2024, the Boys have hardly been convincing on their travels and will be seeking only their second away victory on Sunday afternoon.
Team News
HamKam remain without the services of Halvor Opsahl, with the 21-year-old currently recovering from a fitness issue sustained in late March.
As a result, the Comrades are even more likely to stick with a back three of John Norheim, Fredrik Sjolstad and Luc Mares.
Owing to a back injury, Miika Koskela has not featured for Tromso since August 2023 and is not expected to be back for Sunday's clash at HamKam.
Joining the Finnish defender in the medical room is Vegard Erlien, who provided five goal contributions in 11 league matches before picking up a foot injury at the start of June.
HamKam possible starting lineup:
Sandberg; Mares, Sjolstad, Norheim; Jonsson, Simenstad, Soras, Odegard, Kongsro; Udahl, Mawa
Tromso IL possible starting lineup:
Haugaard; Jenssen, Guddal, Skjaervik; Paintsil, Hjerto-Dahl, Antonsen, Jenssen, Norheim; Romsaas, Nordas
We say: HamKam 1-1 Tromso IL
HamKam's results have picked up over the last few matches, but we are still expecting a close affair between the sides on Sunday.
Tromso should be buoyed by their victory earlier in the weekend, and we feel that the Boys should be good enough for another result on the road this weekend.
