Hannover continued their unbeaten start to the new Bundesliga season with a comfortable 2-0 win over Hamburger SV this afternoon.
It took just 13 minutes for the home side to take the lead, with Leon Andreasen heading a Miiko Albornoz cross into the back of the net from close range.
Hannover had their second just 11 minutes later when Artur Sobiech found the bottom corner from close range following bright work from Joselu.
Lewis Holtby had the away side's best chance of the first period, but the German, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, could only fire wide of the goal from just outside the box.
Nicolai Muller came close to making it 3-0 early in the second period, but fired wide, before Leonardo Bittencourt was denied by Jaroslav Drobny in the Hamburg goal.
Both sides had a series of chances in the latter stages, with Artjoms Rudnevs rattling the crossbar for the away side, but Hannover kept their clean sheet intact.
The result has moved Hannover into third, while Hamburg have dropped to bottom of the Bundesliga.
