Bundesliga side Hannover have revealed that they are not looking to cash in on the interest shown in striker Mame Biram Diouf.
Diouf, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Cardiff City strongly tipped to make a move for the player in the January transfer window.
However, the club's head coach Tayfun Korkut said that the club would not be able to bring in a suitable replacement so the player would be likely to remain in Hannover.
"If we have quality we should protect them," he told Deutsche Presseagentur. It would not be easy to fund a replacement and I do not get the impression that Mame's thoughts are somewhere else."
Diouf has previously played in England with Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers.
