Phil Brown is in the running to become the next manager of Hartlepool United, according to reports.
The former Hull City manager has been out of work since he was sacked by Preston North End last December but he could be tempted to apply for the managerial position at Victoria Park, according to the Shields Gazette.
It is also reported that speculation linking former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson with an interest in the position is untrue.
Neale Cooper resigned from his position as Hartlepool manager last week after 10 months in charge.
