Luke James and Jack Barmby scored two late goals to hand Hartlepool United a 2-0 win over York City at Victoria Park this afternoon.
After a quiet opening 15 minutes, Nick Pope was called into action twice in the space of a minute to deny Bradley Walker and Andy Monkhouse.
York's best chance of the half fell to Josh Carson, who sent a 33rd-minute free kick just wide of the right post.
A minute after the break, Wes Fletcher almost gave the away side the lead with a powerful header, but Scott Flinders tipped the ball round the post.
With just eight minutes remaining, James kept his composure to send a driven, left-footed shot beyond the reach of Pope to give the home side the advantage and Barmby wrapped up the victory with a 89th-minute strike.
