Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol has said that he is "delighted" to have escaped direct relegation from the Bundesliga on the final day of the season.
Two late penalties from Sejad Salihovic saw the German outfit beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 away from home and finish third from bottom in the table.
"We were lucky we weren't more than a goal down after an hour because Dortmund had a whole host of opportunities," Bundesliga.com quotes Gisdol as saying.
"We knew our chances would improve the longer we stayed in the game. It was a very emotional finish and we're delighted we've got one final chance to save ourselves."
Hoffenheim will now enter a relegation playoff.
