The Houston Dynamo have eased past the Los Angeles Galaxy by recording a 3-0 victory in their MLS clash at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The home side began the game strongly and took the lead as Will Bruin was played through on goal and held his composure to slot the ball past Brian Rowe.
Houston doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Brad Davis was teed up outside the box and he drove the ball low into the corner beyond the reach of Rowe.
Los Angeles almost hit back when Robbie Keane latched on to a cross into the box, but his snap shot was well saved by Tyler Deric.
In the second half, Galaxy took the game to the home side and came close when Steven Gerrard picked out Dan Gargan on the right, but the full-back sent his effort from a tight angle over the bar.
Erick Torres unlocked the visitors' defence with an incisive pass to Davis whose effort looked to be finding the net until Rowe palmed the ball to safety.
Rowe was in fine form again to deny Torres his first goal for Houston as he made a reaction save to stop the forward's close-range effort from finding the net.
Dynamo secured their win in the dying minutes when Leonel Miranda raided through the Galaxy defence and lifted the ball over Rowe into the net.
