Huddersfield Town are on course to end Brentford's four-game winning streak as they lead the Bees 1-0 at half time in their Championship encounter at the John Smith's Stadium.
Brentford began on the front foot as Alan Judge smashed a long-range effort narrowly over the bar in the fifth minute, and the winger went close once more just a few minutes later.
Huddersfield looked to counter when they got the ball and Nakhi Wells flashed an effort into the side-netting with the home side's first shot of the afternoon.
Brentford continued to pour forward though, and Jonathan Douglas nodded wide before Alex Smithies denied the positive Judge with a reaction save.
For all Brentford's early chances, Huddersfield took the lead in the 18th minute as Sean Scannell fired home from Wells's low cross.
Smithies then thwarted Jake Bidwell before Jacob Butterfield twice went close at the other end.
Shortly before the interval Alex Pritchard fired two efforts narrowly wide as Brentford continued to look for an equaliser, but the home side held on to lead at the break.
