Sports Mole looks ahead to the Championship encounter between Huddersfield Town and Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Queens Park Rangers travel to Huddersfield Town on Saturday, looking to make it four games unbeaten in the Championship.

Huddersfield are yet to record a victory this season, and they will be hoping to rectify this and move away from the bottom three.

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield are already languishing towards the basement end of the division after failing to win any of their opening four games.

Chris Powell's men have lost one and drawn three, leaving them 21st in the standings and a point outside the relegation zone.

Their three draws have all come by 1-1 scorelines, with the latest being at Fulham last Saturday. The Terriers looked on course to take all three points from Craven Cottage thanks to Nahki Wells's strike, but a 94th-minute effort from Cauley Woodrow denied them the win.

Huddersfield have now drawn seven of their last eight matches in the Championship, a run stretching to the back end of last season.

Powell has said that he is hopeful of bringing one new signing to the club ahead of the clash with QPR, although it remains to be seen if he can do that.

The Terriers have money to spend after selling Alex Smithies to this weekend's opponents, with Middlesbrough winger Mustapha Carayol being tipped to make a move to West Yorkshire.

Queens Park Rangers

After losing on the opening day of the campaign at Charlton Athletic, QPR have rallied to win two and draw one of their following three Championship fixtures.

However, they come into this match off the back of a surprise defeat to Carlisle United in the League Cup in midweek. Goals from Derek Asamoah and Jason Kennedy, either side of a strike from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, gave the League Two outfit a shock 2-1 win at Loftus Road.

Ramsey has made it clear that he was unhappy with his side's sloppy performance and he has called on them to tighten up at the back.

The Hoops have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their games this season, but the potency of their attacking players has been enough to earn them Championship points.

Charlie Austin, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur this week, made it four goals in as many league games last weekend as he bagged a brace in the 4-2 win over Rotherham United.

Austin remains a Rangers player for now, but with less than a week to go until the transfer window closes, speculation over his future will continue to mount.

QPR sit just inside the playoff positions as it stands, and they will be looking to solidify that position against a Huddersfield side who have failed to get going so far.

Team News

Powell has no fresh injury concerns and could name the same side that drew at Fulham last week.

James Vaughan, who has been limited to substitute appearances so far, is expected to continue on the bench as Huddersfield stick with a lone-striker system.

Ramsey made a host of changes to his side for the Carlisle match and he is likely to do the same again following their defeat.

A number of fringe players were handed an opportunity to impress the QPR boss, but it is thought that he will revert to the side that has served him well so far in the league.

Austin, Matt Phillips, Nedum Onuoha and Karl Henry were all rested in midweek and should come back in. Alex Smithies looks set to miss out on the chance to face his former side as he continues on the bench behind Robert Green.

Armand Traore is the only injury concern for the Hoops, with the defender set to miss out due to a calf problem.

Huddersfield Town possible starting lineup:
Murphy; Smith, Lynch, Hudson, Davidson; Butterfield, Whitehead, Hogg; Bunn, Wells, Scannell

Queens Park Rangers possible starting lineup:
Green; Konchesky, Hill, Onuoha, Perch; Faurlin, Henry; Chery, Luongo, Phillips; Austin

Head To Head

QPR have the better overall record from their 25 meetings with Huddersfield, with 12 wins compared to Town's seven, while there have been six draws.

The sides last met in the 2013-14 campaign, with QPR winning 2-1 at Loftus Road, and the last meeting at the John Smith's Stadium ending in a 1-1 draw.

QPR's last win in West Yorkshire came in March 2003, when they triumphed 3-0 in the old League Division Two.

We say: Huddersfield Town 0-2 Queens Park Rangers

QPR come into this one looking to make amends for their League Cup exit and will be fielding a much stronger side. Huddersfield have struggled for goals so far and QPR are likely to have too much for them here.
