Huddersfield Town have stopped the pre-season rot of consecutive defeats with a goalless stalemate against La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna this evening.
Both sides had sights of goal in the first half, although the finishing left a lot to be desired as Deportivo dragged a number of efforts wide and Nahki Wells failed to truly threaten the keeper.
The visitors did have the ball in the back of the net after 16 minutes when Miguel Cardoso found a way past Alex Smithies, but the celebrations were cut short by the linesman's flag.
Wells pounced on a defensive error just before the half-hour mark before advancing through on goal, but once again German Lux was equal to his effort.
Clear-cut chances were few and far between in the opening 45 minutes, however, and that theme continued into the second half, with Alejandro Arribas wasting the best opening when he nodded a tame header straight into the arms of Joe Murphy.
A plethora of substitutions further stunted the game's rhythm as the match wore on, and eventually the 4,633 fans inside the John Smith's Stadium were forced to settle for a goalless draw.
