Hull City have reportedly suspended manager Nick Barmby for recent comments that he made to the media.

Barmby is believed to have been disappointed by the board's response to his request for further funds to strengthen his squad over the summer.

Following those discussions, Barmby said: "I want this club to be pushing because, if we push, we get better, standards get higher and this club needs to be in and amongst the teams pushing for promotion.

"Everything's got to be right, we've said things and we've got to back them up, including me."

The club are yet to comment on the speculation.
