Nikica Jelavic has decided to call time on his international career with Croatia.
The Hull City striker, who has made 36 appearances for his country, informed head coach Niko Kovac of his decision shortly after the recent 1-0 victory over Bulgaria.
"I have to admit that Jelavic surprised me and I am sorry to hear about his decision. Of course, I will accept it, and thank him for everything he has done for Croatia. I wish him all the best in life, including his club career," Kovac told the Croatian FA's official website.
Jelavic, who's signed boots you can win through Sports Mole's competition here, scored six goals for Croatia, one of which came at Euro 2012 against the Republic of Ireland.
