Hull City defender Paul McShane has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing ankle surgery.
The 28-year-old was stretchered off during his side's 1-0 defeat to Southampton on February 11 following a collision with teammate Steven Harper.
McShane had an initial operation on Monday and is expected to have further surgery in a fortnight before starting his rehabilitation.
"He won't play again this season and we're hoping that he'll be back for the start of next season, but until the next operation it's still a doubt," manager Steve Bruce told the club's official website.
Hull are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they make the trip to Cardiff City.
