Hull City's James Chester upbeat over survival chances

Hull City defender James Chester believes that his side are more than capable of beating Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League to aid their push for survival.

Hull City defender James Chester is confident that his side can get their push for survival back on track with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

The Tigers dropped back into the relegation zone last week following their 1-0 defeat to Burnley at the KC Stadium, but Chester believes that they can give themselves a fighting chance of staying in the Premier League by taking three points against Spurs.

He told the club's official website: "We're all desperate to keep this club in this division. Hopefully that desperation, combined with a bit more quality than we showed last weekend, will see us right.

"We don't want to give up our place in this division. We all believe we're good enough to be here and we have to show that in the next couple of games, starting at Spurs on Saturday.

"As players, you look at fixtures and you get certain feelings. It was like that when we looked at the Liverpool game a couple of weeks ago, we all genuinely believed we could get a win from that one and it's the same this weekend going to Tottenham."

Hull will be without Jake Livermore at White Hart Lane as he was suspended by the club after the midfielder reportedly tested positive for cocaine.
