Goals from Mohamed Diame and Abel Hernandez gave Hull City a 2-0 away victory over Cardiff City in the Championship this evening.
Hull made a quick start to the match, and Hernandez came close to opening the scoring with a blocked shot on eight minutes, only for the rebound to fall to Diame who finished from close range to give the visitors the lead.
Cardiff created a number of chances to equalise in the first half, as defender Sean Morrison twice headed wide from a Peter Whittingham corner, while Kenwyne Jones forced a good save from Allan McGregor
Hull had two opportunities to add to their lead before half time, as Sone Aluko fired over the bar, before Sam Clucas tested Cardiff keeper David Marshall.
After the break Kagisho Dikgacoi came close to finding an equaliser for the hosts, as the midfielder headed over from a Whittingham free kick, before the Tigers' Tom Huddlestone saw a 25-yard strike blaze over the bar.
Cardiff were dominating possession, but their opponents looked dangerous on the break, as both Aluko and Clucas missed chances on the counter-attack.
Hull scored their second goal on 80 minutes, as Diame found Hernandez with a through-ball before the Uruguayan striker finished from inside the box.
The hosts were unable to respond to Hull's second goal, and the Tigers saw out the victory to end Cardiff's unbeaten run.
