Hull City are allegedly closing in on Uruguay striker Abel Hernandez for a club record £10m.
The Tigers are in advanced talks with Italian side Palermo regarding the 24-year-old, according to The Mirror.
Hull manager Steve Bruce has turned his attention to the South American following his failed bid to sign Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn Rovers.
"Abel Hernandez has been mentioned. We're close to one or two things and very close with one striker which will be a fantastic addition if we can pull it off," Bruce told reporters.
The sale of striker Shane Long to Southampton for £12m is expected to bankroll the move for Hernandez.
