Hull City manager Steve Bruce has revealed that the club have held talks with Jermain Defoe's representatives regarding a transfer this month.
The 32-year-old currently plays for MLS side Toronto, but questions have been raised regarding his long-term future overseas.
Queens Park Rangers and Liverpool have also been registered with an interest, and last weekend Bruce admitted that Defoe could be too expensive for the Tigers.
However, in this morning's press conference, Bruce said: "There have been talks with agents but that's as far as it's gone."
Yesterday, it was confirmed that Defoe will return to former club Tottenham Hotspur next week to train.
