Talks to take Tom Ince on loan from Hull City to Nottingham Forest are believed to be at an advanced stage.
Reports earlier this week suggested that Stuart Pearce was hoping to sign Ince, with whom he worked closely during his tenure in charge of England's Under-21 side, as he seeks to end a seven-match winless run.
Forest's Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers and Derby County have also apparently registered an interest in the winger, but Sky Sports News reports that Ince's relationship with Pearce is expected to work in the Reds' favour.
The 22-year-old joined Hull on a free transfer in the summer and started their first three Premier League games of the season, but has not been named in any of their last six matchday squads.
Ince, who has also previously spent loan spells at Crystal Palace and Forest's neighbours Notts County, scored 31 goals in 100 Championship appearances for Blackpool.
