Northern Ireland Under-21s have been held to a 1-1 draw by Iceland Under-21s in their European Championship qualifier this evening.
The visitors made a bright start and took the lead in the second minute when Ryan Johnson arrived at the front post to meet a corner, before powering a header into the roof of the net.
However, Iceland levelled the scores in the 37th minute, as Aron Elis Thrandarson collected a loose pass and drove into the box, before sliding a low strike beyond the keeper.
Both teams had chances to score in the second half, but there were no further goals, as Ireland's search for a first win in qualifying continued.
