Full-back Maicon will miss Inter Milan's Champions League match with French champions Lille on Wednesday evening.

The Brazilian international suffered a thigh injury during Inter 2-1 defeat to Juventus yesterday evening, a game in which he scored.

"This morning at the orthopaedic clinic of the IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo Foundation in Pavia, professor Franco Combi, Inter's chief of medical staff, submitted Maicon to medical tests to investigate the muscular pain felt by the player," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The results showed a second-degree strain to the biceps femoris muscle of the left thigh.

"After the exams in Pavia were completed, the player went to the Angelo Moratti training centre for his first session of therapy and physiotherapy."

Inter defeated Lille 1-0 when the two sides met in France a fortnight ago.
