Inter Milan have survived a scare to progress in the Europa League after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the San Siro to Hajduk Split to win the third qualifying round 3-2 on aggregate.
The Italians failed to dominate their opponents as they did in the first leg and Hajduk Split looked eager to reduce the deficit early in the match.
Ante Vukusic was given the opportunity to open the scoring for Hajduk in the 23rd minute when his team were awarded a penalty and the forward calmly slotted past Samir Handanovic.
Despite more pressure from the Croatian side, Inter were able to keep their two-goal advantage until deep into the second period.
Ivan Vukovic shocked the Italian crowd in the 58th minute with a well-placed shot past Handanovic to force a dramatic finish to the tie.
However, Hajduk Split couldn't force a late goal and Inter survived a difficult final few minutes to win on aggregate.
