Lazio president Claudio Lotito has insisted that his team deserved their 1-0 victory over Inter Milan last night.
Miroslav Klose struck the only goal of the game at the Stadio Olimpico, helping Aquile to draw within one point of the second-placed Nerazzurri.
The hosts came under some pressure in defending their lead, but Lotito believes that Lazio won as a team.
"It was a thoroughly deserved victory, as we had plenty of scoring opportunities," Football Italia quotes Lotito as saying.
"Klose also had two great chances before he found the net, then scored a wonderful goal. I saw a great Lazio side who were well set out.
"You don't just win games with individual champions, but with a team and character. Lazio attacked for 94 minutes."
Juventus lead Serie A by seven points.
