Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini has revealed that he has been impressed with Xherdan Shaqiri's "class and personality" since his arrival at San Siro.
Shaqiri netted on his first start for the club in the Coppa Italia win against Sampdoria on Wednesday, and along with fellow new recruit Lukas Podolski, Mancini has been pleased with his first contribution.
The 50-year-old told reporters: "I'm pleasantly surprised by Shaqiri's class and personality.
"I'm happy that Shaqiri and Podolski played a good game against Samp. We know the two of them are behind in terms of fitness and we expect a lot from them.
"With respect to the rest of the team, we can certainly improve. I believe we can play better."
Shaqiri has joined Inter on a permanent deal from Bayern Munich, while Podolski is on loan from Arsenal for the remainder of the campaign.
