Inter Milan centre-back Andrea Ranocchia has insisted that he does not have a preference where he plays in the side's back line.
Ranocchia, who spent his formative years as a striker for Perugia, said that it is important to be able to play in all positions across a back three.
"I feel comfortable in all three positions," he told the club's official website. "If your role is to mark an opponent, be it on the right or the left, you need to be very fit because you need to always attack the ball.
"Playing in the middle you need to think a bit more, it's even a bit more crucial if you will, because you need to plug the gaps left by your teammates, as you're the last man. They're different, but I like both because I've played in both over the course of my career."
Inter have won three of their last four league games to move up to fourth in Serie A.
