Inter Milan have reached the last eight of the Coppa Italia thanks to second-half goals from Antonio Cassano and Fredy Guarin against Verona at the San Siro.
Serie B side Verona were not overawed by their famous counterparts in the opening period and could have taken the lead if Daniele Cacia or Armin Bacinovic had found the target with strikes at goal.
Up the other end and Inter's main threat was coming from Ricardo Alvarez but the two sides went in level at the break.
The hosts broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half through Cassano, the Italian international taking advantage of a pinpoint pass from Guarin.
Matteo Abbate almost levelled proceedings for Verona instantly but two minutes later it was 2-0 as Guarin found the back of the net.
The Nerazzurri cantered home in the remaining 35 minutes to extend their unbeaten home run to nine games.
