Former England international Kieron Dyer is reportedly close to announcing his retirement from professional football.
The 34-year-old was released by Middlesbrough earlier this summer and has so far failed to secure terms with a new club.
The former Ipswich Town midfielder was linked with a return to Portman Road, but is believed to have decided that the time is right to finish his playing career.
Dyer started his career at Ipswich before moving to Newcastle United for a fee of £6.5m in 1999.
In a career blighted by persistent injury problems, Dyer also spent four years with West Ham United and won 33 caps for the Three Lions.
