Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has claimed that Christophe Berra is a contender for player of the season following the victory over Yeovil Town on Tuesday.
The centre-back scored the only goal of the game in the win for Ipswich, and McCarthy was keen to praise the 29-year-old for the part he played in securing all three points.
"If you start looking around for player of the season then Christophe has to be up there, he's been magnificent. He's a proper centre-half," McCarthy told reporters after the game.
"We'll take the three points because they were hard-earned, hard-fought and Yeovil are scrapping for their lives. You saw today that they aren't a bad side."
Ipswich are currently ninth in the Championship.
