Goalkeeper Scott Loach has insisted that he is not concerned by Dean Gerken's arrival at Ipswich Town.
Loach was forced to sit on the bench at times last season, with loanee Stephen Henderson often preferred between the posts.
He has since returned to his parent club West Ham United, but Loach has revealed that he will use the recent arrival of keeper Gerken to help himself improve.
"I don't know [Gerken], but I know his reputation. People keep asking me 'are you scared' and this and that, but I knew I was never going to be the only keeper. Me and Gerks shared a room in Ireland so there's no hatred there whatsoever," he told the East Anglian Daily Times.
"Just like when Hendo was here, I'll work hard and try and keep him out. He'll work hard to try and keep me out too. It's just a case of pushing each other."
Loach joined the Tractor Boys last year from Watford.
