Ipswich Town striker Paul Taylor could miss the rest of the season with a foot injury.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that striker Paul Taylor will undergo surgery on his injured foot which could keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

Taylor sustained the injury in September's 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

New boss McCarthy told BBC Radio Suffolk: "Paul's going to be out for a while.

"He's been to see a specialist and he's going to have to have an operation on his foot."

McCarthy led Ipswich to their first win since August on Saturday when they defeated Birmingham City 1-0.
